I have enjoyed having a creative outlet for many years now, starting with paper-cutting and moving on to polymer clay charms for bow makers and painting furniture. As I delved more into creativity and exploring Instagram more, I came across Surface Design & Illustration and my obsession for this grew from there.

In September 2024, I decided to launch Nicola Wilson Creative Co. on Instagram, sharing my very first post on the 1st September, slowly building my community and sharing my creative style and love for nature. Although I am based near the bustling city of Manchester, I have always loved to be in nature and spend much of my time visiting National Trust Gardens to find new floral inspiration for my designs and the occasional bird illustration if I am lucky enough to capture such a moment in the gardens. The British countryside is a huge part of my inspiration and also introduced me to a new passion of photography along the way which I love as part of my creative process. You will find a selection of my photographs throughout my website (all photographs on the website are my own).

Another inspiration is my family home on the Isle of Mull in Scotland adding a touch of Scottish to my designs too, with a favourite being my puffin collection! I visit my family on the Island a few times a year, finding new textures, colours and of course wildlife to photograph ready for a new pattern collection or product range.

I am now continuing my journey, building my creative business slowly and enjoying growing a wonderful community of like-minded nature lovers.
